They are supported in as much as, if you upload them, and they are of legal content, we will approve them! However, our conversion process (from MPEG1 or MPEG2) does not convert to .3GP format.

I see there already a few in the Open Source Movies section- search for 3gp.

Edit: I found that VLC media player (aka Videolan) will play these files.

Yes, we are just about to rollout our improved code to make:
MPEG-4s
animated GIFs
thumbnails
for movies. I tried a few of the .3gp items with it but
our system doesn't know about that format (yet).

However, I did find a google thread on how to "shoe horn"
in .3gp reading into debian mplayer package (what we use).

So at some point in the future, maybe...
